Miller time never in the cards
authored a 16-14 triumph over Thompsons to move into a tie for sixth place during recent action of the Miller High Life League.
Signature Card managed to eke out the victory despite the fact that Thompsons rolled second high team game (978) and third high team series (2,664).
The losers were spearheaded by Victor Thompson's 235 game while Signature Card got their spark from Clyde Burgess.
Tools & Equipment, meantime, bounced back from a surprising first game loss against Team Spirit to hammer their opponents 23-7. Tools were led by Dean Lightbourn, who rolled top series (643) and best game (279). Conrad Lister was the perfect complement to Lightbourn with his 240 game. Tools also posted the top team game (992) and series (2,830). Clarence Andrews supplied Team Spirit with their scoring spurt.
Marlboro rolled past Stevedoring Services 19-11 behind a solid team effort.
The victors compiled second high team series (2,772) with Doug Hines leading the way. Ed Stovell had high series for Services.
Goslings maintained their tentative hold on second place with a 19-11 victory over Terminators as Mike Lambe rolled the second high individual series (635) to lead the winners to the third high team game of 961. Robert Flood produced high series for Terminators.
Duncan Newby rolled his highest personal series (614) and game (257) to lead Spoilers to a one-sided triumph over New Mix Ups. Spoilers just missed being on the honours list behind a good series while lowly Mix Ups could offer little resistance.
Buy and Sell got their early Christmas gift with a 22-5 thrashing of Warwick Whites behind an explosive team high series of 2,750 and second best team high game of 934 during Barritt's Sportsmen's League action this week.
Miles Smith sparked the winners behind his individual high series of 597, good enough for second place in that category in league action.
Warwick did have something to smile about, namely Harry Bean who recorded third best individual series (578) and second best individual high game (224).
Pembroke Juniors grabbed a 16-11 victory over Warwick Reds behind the solid performance of Antoine Jones. Jones posted top individual series (606) and individual high game (226) while the team registered second best team high series (2,684) and top team high game (986). Dean Lightbourn managed third best individual high game (224) to also help the cause.
