Rain ruins Sunday schedule
from being washed out.
The biggest loss took place on the soccer pitches, where all but two third-round FA Cup matches were called off.
While the games between Somerset Eagles and Lobster Pot, plus St. George's and St.Davids, went on as scheduled, six others were postponed because of unplayable grounds.
Replay dates are unknown as four teams -- Devonshire Colts, PHC, Vasco and Dandy Town -- scheduled to play yesterday face two matches this week and at least one more next week in the Dudley Eve Trophy.
Devonshire Cougars v Boulevard, Wolves v Somerset and YMSC v Hotels could, however, be played as early as tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, the second half of the time trials for next month's Front Street Mile also fell foul of the weather.
The trials got underway on Saturday afternoon but the remainder of races for primary school girls and boys, secondary school girls and boys and open males and females were washed out yesterday and will now be run on Wednesday at National Stadium, starting at 6.00 p.m.
Also suffering at the hands of yesterday's downpour was the harness racing card at Vesey Street and rugby's Cunningham Sevens tournament at Nationals.
