achievement with an unbeaten 75 in Sunday's title-clincher against Police at Wellington Oval.

Smith's performance came on the least momentous weekend of the cricket season as only two other half-centuries were scored and no bowler claimed more than four wickets.

Smith is joined in this week's Fab Five by Aaron Adams of Cleveland, Clay Smith of St. George's, Hugh Murray of Cleveland and Perry Maybury of Somerset.

Wendell Smith: Hit his fourth half-century in eight innings of an injury-affected season. Struck seven fours and three sixes after earlier holding two catches.

Aaron Adams: Only his second half-century this season but it came at a good time as Cleveland were pushing for a first-ever spot in the Camel Cup. The Cleveland vice-captain survived an early chance when on one to hit three sixes and three fours.

Clay Smith: The only batsman in the island with a legitimate shot at crossing the 1,000-run barrier. Scored 52, including seven fours and two sixes, against Police to take his season's tally to 958 with one league and at least one knockout innings remaining. Also took two for 32 from nine overs of off-spin.

Hugh Murray: Instrumental in Cleveland reducing St. David's to 127 for eight in their 27 allotted overs. Claimed four for 23 in six overs, including the prized scalps of Lionel Cann and Allen Richardson.

Perry Maybury: The only loser in this week's Fab Five but the Somerset captain put in a yeoman's effort against long odds in the Bailey's Bay game. Scored 32 out of a paltry 60 and then claimed two for 33 in seven overs as Bay won by seven wickets.

AARON ADAMS -- 56 not out for Cleveland.
