Championships in the BASA pool on the weekend -- two to the same swimmer.
Kiera Aitken, aged 14, of Dolphins broke the mark set by Elisha Miller in the 13-14 400m freestyle two years ago. Aitken clocked 4:52.11 to beat the old record of 4:54.91.
And she followed that up by setting a new record in the 13-14 200m backstroke, swimming 2:33.55 to smash Rebecca Hanson's 1996 mark of 2:36.22.
Eight year-old Elizabeth Brewin, also of Dolphins, swam an impressive one minute 37.97 seconds in the 100 metres backstroke, beating her own personal best by almost nine seconds and eclipsing the eight and under record of 1:42.90 set by Caroline Black 11 years ago.
The Winter Championships continue with two more meets on October 24 and November 14.
SQUASH SQU Island newcomer Scott Chapman carried off the Division One title in the Shell Divisional Handicap Tournament on Saturday when he edged Murray Brewer 3-2.
In a seesaw encounter Chapman prevailed 7-15, 15-8, 15-11, 8-15, 15-11.
It was just one of eight matches among the night's 10 finals which went the whole distance with the other two taking four games to settle.
Eddie Redmond held onto his Division Two title with a tight 15-14, 8-15, 15-8, 15-13 win over Lynn Furtado, but there was a much closer match in the Division Three final featuring former finalists Mike Somers and Nas Jetha.
Down 1-2 (15-9, 10-15, 9-15), Somers saved a 14-all match ball in the fourth to level the score at 2-2 and then used his superior fitness to take the decider 15-7.
Despite her attempts to keep the ball deep in the back corners, Isle of Man visitor Lindsey Tickell was unable to overcome Phil Kendall in the Division Four final.
Kendall, who only took up the game this year, grew stronger as the match progressed to win 15-11, 8-15, 15-13, 13-15, 15-3.
Juniors Andrew Stout, 10, and Michael Shrubb, 11, engaged in a thrilling marathon before Stout emerged victorious 15-8, 13-15, 10-15, 15-12, 15-8.

Among them were Miss Tuffer Road, driven by Leslie Wolffe, Just Cruisin, driven by Kenny Mills and Bobby DeGraff's Gusto's Crackerjack.
Defending her title as the top lady driver from last season, Samantha Hayward crossed the finish line in first place twice but was set back in the first heat for a driving infringement.

Colby Sousa, 16, picked up where he left off last season. He won two heats with his newly acquired Crunch Time.
Two new ponies made their Bermuda debuts but neither registered a win. Michael DeCosta's Tell Me About It finished third twice, while Arthur Hurst's Good Hand Charlie took a second and third.
Local race fans, meanwhile, got their first look at a miniature race horse.
