Course instructor Jon Beard applauded the efforts of the candidates, who had to endure daily three-hour, evening classes for two weeks, culminating with a practical assessment.

"The standard of coaching was pleasingly high,'' said Beard, assisted throughout the fortnight by Danvers Seymour, coach of reigning First Division champions Boulevard.
