More than 20 riders turned out for opening day of the Bermuda Autocycle Union season at Coney Island on Sunday.

Competing under sunny skies, Steven Panchaud had the day's best performance, winning all three of his races to capture the 80cc class. Jimmy Lee Weaver, in his first year of racing, was second and led the first moto until he was passed by Panchaud near the end.

Howard Paynter, making a smooth transition to the 125C class, won his final two races to beat out Scott Constable. Charles Butterfield recorded two wins and a second to take the 125B division.

Gary Cann earned the first 60cc win of the season and backed it up with a second and third.

SOCCER SOC Bermuda Football Association yesterday announced that two matches scheduled for this Sunday have now been brought forward to Friday night at Devonshire Rec.

Wolves will meet Social Club in the opening Second Division clash at 7.00 p.m.

while the following First Division match will feature last-placed Devonshire Cougars against leaders Vasco.

SNOOKER SNO Sandys Boat Club's Mike Tatem was named Bermuda Snooker League's player of the week after he fashioned a fine 29 break in defeating Warwick Workman's Club's Wally Tucker 88-5.

But his winning effort was in vain as Warwick ran out 4-2 winners to maintain their title push.

In the battle of the league leaders, Old Colony Club II won the first three games against Old Colony Club I, but the first team hit back to force a 3-3 tie.
