Sandys posted 191 all out from 39.5 overs but 130 was all West Indian Association could muster.

Paul Ross and Terry Ward spearheaded the west-enders' assault with Ross notching a superb 57, while Ward agonisingly missed his half-century, being run out when poised at 49.

Other notable contributors were Terry Corday (27) and Mike Corday (24).

Meanwhile, Ossie Clarke returned remarkable figures of five for 16, collecting four of those victims during his fifth and final over. Skipper Ken Savoury assisted with two for 21.

For West Indian Association, Andy Boyce hammered 30, with Savoury (22) and Jerry Calendar (24) also showing some touch at the crease.

Still, they fell well short as Lennox of Sandys took three wickets for 17, Terry Corday and A.Paynter two each and Ross one.

North Village's Cal Smith ended his 1993 league campaign in style, almost singlehandedly destroying rivals Devonshire Stars with a spirited all-round display at Garrison field on Sunday.

Village won by 16 runs, scoring 150 for eight and then skittling out Stars for 136.

The policeman first handcuffed the opposition's bowling attack in stroking his way to 41 at number seven, including two sixes and three fours.

He followed that feat, coming on as Village's first-change bowler and proceeded to ravage Stars' line-up, ending the day with four wickets for 41 runs from 10.4 overs.

Chief aide to Smith in the run chase was Elliott Jennings, who staked his way to 24, including three fours, while openers Mike Levon and Elliott Pitcher each totalled 19. Derek Bell also had a decent knock, registering 17 not out.

Young Merkell Smith turned in a creditable bowling performance for Stars. He and skipper Gary Ascento were the only ones to cause the batsmen any discomfort. Smith claimed five for 48 and Ascento three for 29.

Stars were quickly on the ropes when it came their turn to handle the willow, as the first wicket fell at nought, that of Terry Grant.

They would tumble further, at one stage standing precariously at 12 for three.

That was until Kirby and Shane Grant embarked on a fourth-wicket partnership worth 42 runs, before Cal Smith made the crucial breakthrough, bowling the former for 24.

Shane would go on to reach the half-century mark, but his team-mates could not carry the load and were eventually all out for 136.

Other than Smith, Derek Bell claimed three wickets, while Jennings and Pitcher snatched one apiece.
