Trinindad on Saturday with a straight-sets victory over favourite H.Ann Johnson.

Fisher won 6-4, 6-4 against the number one seed to give herself a boost ahead of the Caribbean Junior Championships, also in Trinidad, which start today.

It was the second overseas singles title in two days to be won by a young Bermudian tennis player after 12-year-old Ashley Brooks took the under-16 title at the Southern Regional Championships in Elmwood Park, New Jersey on Friday.

Fisher survived perhaps her sternest test of the tournament in the semi-finals when she saw off number two seed Laura Marin of Trinidad, coming back from 4-6, 0-3 down to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

And it got even better for Fisher as she also bagged the under-14 doubles title, playing with sister Kara Fisher.

They enjoyed a comfortable victory in the final, 6-2, 6-2, over number two seeds Katrina Meyer and Tassia Weedon, of Trinidad.

It was the pair's second overseas crown this summer, after they won the Georgia Junior Open under-14 doubles title in Atlanta last month.

Sasha Fisher will today join Gavin Manders and Kyle Williams in the Bermuda team competing in the Caribbean Junior Championships.

All three benefited from a stint training at an International Tennis Federation camp in Fort Lauderdale, Florida earlier this summer.

In the same championships last year, also in Trinidad, Jovan Whitter put Bermuda in the spotlight by playing his way to a third-place finish.

Double delight: Sasha Fisher, who won both the singles and doubles titles in Trinidad.
