Street as the season moved into the home stretch.

And by the time the dust settled both Brittany Gold, driven by Nicholas DeCosta, and Abby Dabby Doo, with Colin Mello in the sulky, had moved up to the Free for All (1:08 and faster) time bar.

In addition five other ponies have a leg out in the 1:08/2-1:09/4 bar.

Pleasant Surprise (Derrick Seymour), Shamrock Temujen (Timmy Boyles), Grand Marshall (Wilson Stables), Shamrock Formal Attire (Eddie Roque) and Vieda's Laser Beam (Arthur Hurst) all appear destined for the top class.

Only two entries managed double victories, both coming in the slower half of the programme.

Sand Trap (Leroy Tucker) paced to a pair of wins in the 1:15/2 and slower bar, while 17-year-old JB's T.W.Belle (Anthony Rego), showed that she still has some life left her in moving up into the 1:12/2-1:13/4 level.

SCHOOLS SOCCER SOC Warwick Secondary captured the BSSF Junior (under-13) knockout title on Friday night with a convincing 3-0 win over Saltus, the defending champions.

Saltus' attempt to make it three KO titles in a row failed on a night that saw the youngsters from Warwick Sec. dominate in all departments.

Midway through the first half speedy striker Dion Stovell outstripped his defender to send Warwick into the lead. A determined Saltus team pressured their opponents early in the second half with Jesse Marshall leading their attack.

But Warwick stood firm and went further ahead when substitute Steven Bailey scored in the 17th minute of the second half.

Kamon Tucker was then rewarded for his tireless efforts as he slotted home a third goal.

Peter Mahoney scored Saltus' consolation goal in the Senior final against Northlands on Friday which Northlands won 4-1.

POOL POO Saturday night witnessed the Chopper Challenge at Robin Hood, with the duo of Wayne Adams and Manual Valadao emerging victorious in the scotch doubles, one game double elimination event.

The night started with an upset as pre-tournament favourites, Mike Zimmerman and Gary Sheppard were shown the exit following back to back defeats against Paul Mathias and Ken Wilson and then to Leonard Dill and Steve Bremar.

At that point the reins appeared to transfer to Dennis Parsons and Darrick DeSilva, who embarked on a four-game winning streak to reach the final of the losers bracket.

Meanwhile, Adams and Valadao were cruising, as were Manual Furtado and Dennis Bell, all the way to the final of the winners bracket.

Furtado and Bell made the best of the pair's first meeting, reaching the tournament final, forcing Adams and Valadao to battle among the losers final, where they got past Parsons and DeSilva to set up a rematch.

Furtado and Bell ran out of luck in the best of three grand final as they were defeated by Adams and Valadao 2-0.
