The five-and-a-half hour seminar, starting at 11 a.m., will cover basic to advanced Wing Chun. A portion of the seminar will be devoted to that `Arnis, the stick fighting art of the Phillipines.

On hand for the seminar will be Sifu Dana Wong of Australia, who has been studying traditional Wing Chun under Grand Master William Cheung since 1983.

Wong arrived in Australia intending to stay six months to a year at most so as to finish his training under Grand Master Cheung. He has made his home there ever since. Wing Chun has two systems, modified and traditional and it is Wong's hope that the seminar will help promote Wing Chun in Bermuda. SAILING SLG Stevie Dickinson and crew Scott Fox picked up their third consecutive victory in the Comet Class Territorial Regatta.

With Rudy Bailey inactive, Dickinson and Fox recorded three wins and a second in four races. Colin Clark and Michael Butterfield, picking up one win, a third, fourth and fifth, claimed second place overall. Gladwin Lambert and Glen Astwood were third.

Top skippers in the series will qualify for international comeptition in the US this month.

SOCCER SOC The inaugural Xtravaganza Soccer Camp, which begins today at Shelly Bay, promises soccer instruction with a difference.

For four one-week installments, at least 30 Island youths will receive an all-day soccer outlet, focussing on skills, tactics, tutorials and sportsmanship.

A pair of US coaches -- Dave Amsler of Richmond, Virginia, and goalkeeping specialist Woody Gibson of Highpoint, North Carolina -- will help kick off the tournament this week, working with the likes of former national coach Sir Gary Darrell and others.

Director Saleem Talbot says the camp will provides a safe, wholesome environment, in which academics is stressed and racism or drug use is not tolerated.

It runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at five-day stretches until August 30.

Late registration will be held this morning until 9.30 a.m.

SQUASH Competing in the Junior Caribbean Squash Championships for the first time in four years, Bermuda enjoyed success in the Cayman Islands last week.

Two members of the small Bermuda contingent won their age groups in the individual championships while another captured the consolation prize.

After taking part in the world junior championships last month in Cairo, Egypt, Bermuda took on the top juniors from Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana, Venezuela and the host Cayman Islands.

James Stout (under-12), Nick Kyme (under-16) were the two winners while Michael Stout earned a consolation title.

James Stout blanked Ryan Farnum of Guyana 3-0 in his final, while Kyme beat Theron Mohabeer of Guyana 3-0.
