Track record tumbles again

second week in a row on Sunday, and once again Grand Shady and Michael DeCosta stood tall at the end.

DeCosta guided Grand Shady across the line in a time of one minute, five seconds, to eclipse the former record of 1:06.

In fact, both the first and second place horses beat the old mark, with Murray Terceira driving runner-up Caroline Jubilee home in 1:05/4.

Other action witnessed Grand Willy record a pair of wins, driven by Johnny Five, while other double winners included Todd's Ebony (Samantha Hayward), Shamrock Formal Attire (Eddie Roque), Shamrock Temujen (Timmy Boyles) and Pleasant Surprise (Derrick Seymour).

Moving up a time bar were Tony Adcock's Diamondway and Roque's Tuxedo's Bow, after finishing first and second in the 1:22/2-1:13/4 bar. Each now enter the already crowded 1:10-1:12/2 level.
