Triathletes shine again in Chicago
event, the Mrs. T's Kids Triathlon in Chicago, winning five out of eight categories up for grabs at the weekend.
More than 30 juniors and seniors from the Island's Tri-Hedz Junior Triathlon Club competed in the races which saw a record turnout of over 6,000 triathletes from across the world.
In the female division newcomer Caitlyn Conyers won the 9-10 year age group, while the boys completed a clean sweep taking all four first places.
Seasoned veterans Tyler Abbott and Chayce Smith finished first in the older age groups, with Ricky Sousa and Marc Smith winning the younger categories.
There were several other strong showings including Tim Fox's second place in the nine to 10 year boys section and Coyatito Smith's second in the 13-14 year-old category.
Completing a family double, Jeff Conyers took first place in the 40 to 49 division of the Super Sprint.
The awards continued to flow on Sunday when the older juniors took centre stage in the Mrs. T's Sprint Triathlon.
The weekend's most impressive result came in the 15-19 year-old male division, where Nick Taylor, Chris Conway and Alex Jones finished first, second and third respectively.
Adam Petty turned the tables on Chayce Smith and Coyatito Smith when he won the 12-14 year-old division after finishing just behind the pair the previous day.
Ashley Robinson-Roberts and Ashley Kirkpatrick finished second in their respective age groups behind the Carusone sisters, two of the USA's top junior athletes, with Robyn Dickinson taking third in the 15-19 year age group.
Not to be outdone Bermuda's senior triathletes, who accompanied the group, also finished strongly in the sprint event. Lea Butterfield won the female 35-39 age group, while Carolyn Conway and Neil de ste Croix finished second in the female 40-44 and male 35-35 groups respectively.
Finally, Jeff Conyers rounded off his first visit to Mrs T's weekend with third place in the male 45-49 year race.
