Trophy in their second annual match with Social Club on run rate on Saturday
The umpires batted first and scored 138 in 25.3 overs with 10-man Social Club replying with the same score but in 36 overs. Both teams were bowled out.
In double figures for the umpires was Oliver Bain with 16, Robin Swan 15 and Richard Knights 14 not out. Arnold Adams took four for 13 and Roddy Thompson four for 39.
Number three bat Cecil Tucker was the top score for Social Club with 33 while Jermaine Exell supported with 32 and Thomas Brangman 20. Thomas Brangman led the bowling for the umpires with three for 17 from eight overs while Jeffrey Pitcher claimed three for 32.
The umpires got the last wicket when D.Matthews was run out by Butler on the last ball of the 36th over as he and Arnold Adams (11 not out) tried for the winning run.
The umpires are scheduled to meet tonight at 7.30 p.m. at the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation.
St. David's won the Shell Youth Tournament final by 10 wickets over a seven-man Southampton team at Sea Breeze Oval on Saturday. Scores: Southampton 57, St. David's 60-0.
Dean Stephens struck 31 out of Southampton's total with Tomeiko Darrell making 11 as the only other in double figures.
Kameron Fox claimed three wickets for no runs in 2.2 overs and Rudell Pitcher took two for one from two overs.
Openers Scott Tucker (24) and Gregon Minors (13) knocked up the winning runs in a mere 5.2 overs.
AMERICAN FOOTBALL FOO The two US college football teams facing off in Bermuda on November 20 have begun their seasons on losing notes.
Washington and Lee University lost their second straight game on Saturday when they were beaten 21-15 by Centre University of Kentucky. The Virginia-based school lost their season opener 36-6 to Emory and Henry on September 11.
Georgetown University dropped their season opener on Saturday when they were defeated by Iona College of New York 22-15.
Both teams will play their final games of the campaign on November 20 at National Stadium, marking the first time a US college football game has been played on the island.
Washington and Lee have received most of their offensive spark from freshman quarterback Brooks Fischer and running back Tom Mason. Mason has scored three of the team's four touchdowns this season and ran for 90 yards in the opener against Emory and Henry.
Georgetown were led by wide receiver Dorian Bell, who hauled in a pair of passes from quarterback Bill Ring for touchdowns. On defence, Brian McNulty led the way with three-and-a-half sacks.
Punter Joe Piscatelli set a school single-game record with 12 punts, averaging 34.8 yards.
DARTS DRT BAA, last year's unbeaten champions, lost 4-3 in a close match against RAA as action resumed in the Bermuda Women's Invitational League on Friday.
Elizabeth Simons enjoyed a solid evening with a 126 finish, while BAA took the 1001.
In other matches, St. George's D&SC I were beaten solidly at home by EEMYC, 6-1, but St. George's took the 1001 in style.
St. George's D&SC II were also losers at home, with BPSA finishing on top with a 5-2 score with BPSA capturing the 1001.
Moonglow, the league's newest team, were narrowly defeated by HPWC 4-3, but they won the 1001.
Police East lost to Mariners 4-3 in a see-saw game with Mariners winning the 1001.
