Two young ponies will make their race debuts when the harness racing programme continues at Vesey Street on next Tuesday's public holiday.
Tuxedo's Little Mite (Bobby DeGraffe) is sired by former track record holder Shamrock Tuxedo, and Bill Booth's Blazeway is sired by Nateway as is Mark Lindo's Dreamway who will also compete in Tuesday's first race.
Also on the track for the first time this season will be Todd's Ebony, driven by Samantha Hayward, and Miss Tuffer Road (Leslie Wolffe).
They go against Championne County and Miss LL Dane in the 1:10/2-1:13 time bar.
Pleasant Surprise, meanwhile, will be coming out for the first time under new ownership. He will be driven by Leroy Tucker and will race against Custom Eye'd (Zeno Cooper), a double winner last Sunday.
The free-for-all is expected to provide the holiday crowd with much excitement as Carolina Jubilee (Murray Terceira) makes his first start of the season, and Melody Time races after returning from a shoulder injury. They go against Brittany Gold and Grand Shady, both out of the Inwood Stables.
Some 31 ponies will be on the track in 20 heats. Post time is one hour earlier than usual at 12.00 noon.
SNOOKER SNO First Division leaders Old Colony Club I narrowly got past Police 3-2 in the first round of the Gosling Cup knockout tournament as Robert Gaglio, Dave McLean and Paul Charleton all won in the deciding frame.
Police's Alan Corcoran, in a losing cause, was named player of the week for a fine 51 break in beating Phil Lambert.
Other teams advancing to the round of eight were Warwick Workmen's Club, both Queens Club teams, Old Colony Club II and IV and both Watford Sports Club teams.
