to win one trophy and stay in contention in another.

And player-coach Wendell Smith, who made his first appearance of the season last weekend -- only because the team were short in a trial match -- is in the team for today's Camel Cup final against Bailey's Bay and tomorrow's league encounter with second-placed Southampton Rangers.

The former Cup Match captain has resisted playing this season, but with so much resting on these two matches, he knows his experience in the batting and tactical know-how could be vital, especially against a high-scoring Bay team who will go into today's final at Lord's as firm favourites.

The East Enders suffered their first league loss of the season last weekend when they went down to Western Stars. They have been struggling in the batting this season and will attempt to bounce back from that loss against the league's top team, who appear invincible.

And then tomorrow at home, they host fast improving Southampton Rangers in the pick of the Premier League matches.

When they met Bailey's Bay in the initial Camel Cup final, St.George's managed to restrict them to 201-9 before the rain came early in their reply and forced the match to be halted.

That 201 represents the lowest total Bay have been dismissed for this season when batting first and the St. George's bowlers will certainly have their hands full trying to stem the flow of runs off the bats of players like captain Charlie Marshall, Ricky Hill, Dennis Trott, Irving Romaine, Glenn Blakeney and Irving Burgess.

Since that first meeting Bay have blasted 344-7 against Cleveland, 290 against PHC, 351 against Flatts, 259-7 against Somerset and 392 off the Warwick bowlers.

Returning to the Bay team for today's final are Corey Hill and former St.

George's player Jason Anderson who have been missing for the last few games.

Teams -- Bailey's Bay: C.Marshall, C.Trott, R.Hill, D.Trott, G.Blakeney, I.Romaine, I.Burgess, J.Ray, C.Hill, J.Anderson, D.Edwards. Res: D.Pilgrim, R.Masters.

St. George's: (from) H.Bascome, R.Hodsoll, D.Smith, M.Ray, S.Gibbons, W.Smith, T.Smith, D.Adams, G.Foggo, R.Steede, J.Lewis, E.Richardson, M.Crane, M.Paynter.

Tomorrow, Bay, the unbeaten league leaders, travel to Prospect to take on a Police team that have been having problems of late, while St. George's welcome former captain Clevie Wade and his Rangers team.

Rangers are tied with Western Stars and Willow Cuts while St. George's have slipped to sixth place, 10 points behind the leaders, but with a game in hand.

Stars have a bye tomorrow while Willow Cuts are away to Devonshire Rec.

Fifth-placed St. David's make the trip west to meet Somerset while the other matches see Social Club hosting Somerset Bridge at St. John's Field, Warwick taking on Flatts at Southampton Oval and PHC meeting Cleveland at Sea Breeze Oval.
