SAILING SLG The latest round of the Laser Frostbite series turned into a match race between Malcolm Smith and Christian Luthi.

Luthi won five of the 10 races to capture the overall daily prize with nine points.

The day saw a new tactical dimension for the crews overcome with large clumps of seaweed strewn about the course, making navigating challenging.

Luthi managed to steer around any potential hazards with the greatest of ease, leaving Smith having to settle for second with 14 points from three wins.

Brett Wright finished third with 31 points.

Ted Wood started the day with an impressive hat-trick of second places, one first and a fifth and was leading the day after the first five races.

However, he was unable to match these finishes in the second part of the day and dropped to fourth with Martin Vezina fifth on the same number of points.
