Zebra's Bantams excel in Atlanta
under-17 division in the Georgia Youth Soccer Tournament in Atlanta.
Blenn Bean and Tokia Russell scored twice while additional strikes came from Kareem Richardson and Dawuud Tucker in a 6-1 final win over local side Mountain Park Blue Panthers.
There was mixed fortune in yesterday's finals as the Minors (under-15) were beaten 2-1 by Spirit. Jerrell Martin scored the lone goal.
The Bantams opened the competition with a 2-1 loss but rebounded to win their group with 11-0 and 2-0 victories.
The Minors reached the final after a penalty shoot-out was required in the semifinals. PHC won 4-3 after the regulation time score stood at 2-2. Their earlier results were 2-0, 5-0 and 2-1.
The Mini-Minor A team came in for hard luck as they were beaten 1-0 on a last-minute goal, which deprived them of a semifinal place. They earlier won 5-0 and 5-2.
The Mini-Minor B team lost every match by scores of 3-0, 4-0 and 6-0.
The group returns today at 1.45 p.m.
