Bean shines in Georgia

The 16-year-old stormed through two rounds of the main draw in the boys under-16 event, losing just three games.
First he beat Ray Gracon 6-1, 6-0 and then he dismissed Ryan McGuiness 6-2, 6-0, but in the last 32 Bean went out to number five seed Drew Clough 6-7, 4-6.
Bean, one of four Bermudians taking part in the second week of the tournament, continued his fine form in the consolation event, beating Dlan Baumgardner 6-3, 6-2 and Chris Bowers 6-4, 1-6, 6-0 to reach the last four, where he will meet Anthony Lee today.
Bermuda's Davis Cup captain Steve Bean said: "Craig has always had the potential and now he's showing the sort of maturity I've been looking for from him.'' In the under-18 boys, Jevon Roberts got through his first-round match, beating Prescot Hoffman 6-4, 6-1, but then he lost to second-seeded Derick Everet in round two.
In the consolation event Roberts got past Matthew Zorn in an epic battle, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6, before going out to Jared Barnet.
In the under-18 girls division, Danielle Paynter started with a 6-2, 6-1 demolition of Lesley Bechtold, but then lost in a tight match, 4-6, 6-3, 3-6 to fourth-seeded Courtney Bartlett.
Then she blazed to today's consolation final against Lauren Ingle, with victories over Patricia Brooks and Rachel Aaron.
Zarah DeSilva kept up the Islanders' 100 percent record in first-round matches with a 6-0, 6-2 win against Lacey Whitmire, before she was swept aside in the second round of the under-16 girls main draw by third-seeded Jenna Marks, losing 1-6, 0-6.
But she has reached today's semi-final of the consolation event against Mackenzie Makus, after straight-sets victories over Rathi Maini and Jenny Hobby.
