BHS Year 10 artists have worked tirelessly this week in their ten-hour end-of-year exam. After six weeks of preparation in their sketchbooks, students had to produce a final outcome over a period of two days under exam conditions. The group has produced a range of unique and creative art works during the exam, which deserved to be shared!

What was your inspiration?

Yasmin Burt

After studying the work of Susan Dorothea White I became intrigued with the anatomy and structure of the body. I was also interested in trying to compare the external appearance and the interior for my piece considering they look completely different. Therefore for my piece I aimed to remove the exterior and show the interior body to show the more significant areas of the human body.

What was the most difficult part of the work?

Nije Hypolite

The most difficult part was creating the stencil as I did not know how it would look until after I had spray-painted through the acetate. I had to try to recreate the text so that each one looked the same.

What was the most successful part of your work?

Tamari Landy

The most successful part of my work was using a range of techniques and ideas to convey the theme of ‘disorder’. The piece looks original and clearly shows the different emotions I wanted to convey.
