Crevoisier

Top French coach Crevoisier

Jacques Crevoisier, a former first-team coach at Liverpool, has returned to the Island for the Bermuda Football Coaches Association’s C Licence course.

The course, which runs from today until next Tuesday, is limited to 50 applicants and will feature theory sessions at CedarBridge Academy and practical sessions at BFA Field in Prospect.

Participants will be assessed on attendance, behaviour, diligence, presence, theoretical knowledge, assessing players during training sessions and how they work within a group.

Crevoisier, who is also a Uefa senior director, is a regular visitor to Bermuda and helped local coaches to gain certification as part of a three-year contract with Andrew Bascome’s ABC Football School. He will also be the guest speaker at the Robin Hood pub on Saturday at 7pm with admission free.

The BFCA was established in November 2013 with Scott Morton, a former Bermuda Football Association National Academy coach, appointed as its first president.

The main objectives of the BFCA are to develop a pool of qualified coaches, cultivate an environment of continuous learning and assisting any organisation in lobbying for the improvement of facilities.

Among the BFCA’s founding members are Clyde Best, Richard Calderon, a former BFA president, Carlton “Pepe” Dill, a former Bermuda coach, and Bascome, the Bermuda coach.

n Andre Pacheco has become Bermuda’s first Fifa-licensed player agent.

Pacheco, a former Mount Saint Agnes Academy pupil, has the authority under Fifa regulations to represent any player, Bermudian or otherwise, who seeks a career in the professional game.

The BFA presented the Island’s first Fifa licence player ID card yesterday to Pacheco, who had to pass the Fifa Player Agents Exam, which he sat in Bermuda last September.

Questions covered an array of topics such as Fifa players’ agents regulations, regulations governing the protection of minors and regulations on the status and transfer of players, including training compensation and the categorisation of clubs.
