Judge Tumim this month received the first Honorary Senior Fellowship from the Cayman Islands Law School.

As Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons for England and Wales since 1987, Judge Tumim had given regular advice on the running of Northward Prison, Cayman Islands Attorney General Mr. Richard Coles said in conferring the fellowship.

Mr. Coles said it was the practice of many respected schools to bestow honorary fellowships on those who were either closely connected with the school or had distinguished themselves in some significant manner.

In Bermuda, Judge Tumim chaired the Criminal Justice Review Board that recommended abolition of mandatory prison terms for traffic offences, recording of Police interviews, and creation of a Family Court, a Government bookstore, an independent Police complaints authority and a race relations division of the Human Rights Commission.

AQUARIUM TO BE CLOSED TODAY MUS Aquarium to be closed today The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo will be closed today for construction work.

Curator Mr. Jack Ward yesterday issued an apology for the closure, which will see workmen use the day to pour concrete for the North Rock Exhibit. "We apologise for any inconvenience and ask that our patrons bear with us as we develop improved exhibits,'' Mr. Ward said.

The pour will be cancelled only in the event of inclement weather.

POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES MUR Police appeal for witnesses Detectives yesterday renewed appeals for witnesses to the murders of: Irving (Ivan) Dunlop, found on December 20, 1993, by St. Paul's Church at the junction of Victoria Street and Court Street; Brian Sherlock, discovered on May 20, 1994, at the Elliott Street parking lot; and Brian Simmons, found on October 9, 1994, in the Pembroke Dump area.

"We would remind the public that a $10,000 reward was offered in the cases of Dunlop and Sherlock and remains outstanding,'' said Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning.

Anyone with information should contact Det. Supt. Vic Richmond or Det. Chief Insp. George Jackson at the incident room on 299-4332.

SCREAMS FRIGHTEN OFF INTRUDER CRM Screams frighten off intruder Police reported 10 incidents of breaking and entering, five cases of stealing and 20 stolen cycles this weekend.

Early Sunday morning, a resident of Harbour Road awoke to find a man in her bedroom just after midnight.

Her screams frightened off the offender who fled empty-handed.

A few hours later, a man of similar description was disturbed when he attempted to enter a Cobbs Hill Road residence in Warwick.

Police are investigating these incidents, a Police spokesman confirmed yesterday.

Also this weekend, 22 road traffic accidents were reported. Nine of these involved injury.

DILLAS PROMOTED TO NEW POST APP Dillas promoted to new post Mr. Derek Dillas has been promoted to the new post of Assistant Postmaster General East/Air Mail Facility.

Mr. Dillas, 45, of Boundary Crescent, Devonshire, was formerly Operations Manager at the General Post Office in Hamilton.

In his new position, he will work at the Civil Air Terminal.

Mr. Dillas joined the Post Office in January 1967 as a clerk.
