Bay and Rangers remain unbeaten
Bailey's Bay and Southampton Rangers both remained unbeaten after the weekend's action, beating St. David's and Devonshire Rec. respectively to pull further away from the chasing pack.
Bay, facing archrivals St. David's for the first time this season, pulled off a thrilling one run win over the hosts at Lords.
Batting first, Bay got a half-century from Dennico Hollis to establish early momentum in the match.
Irving Romaine continued to push the scoreboard over when he reached the wicket with his knock of 39, while Jim West and David Lovell both chipped in with 28 apiece.
In the end they set the mark of 239 for nine in their allotted overs.
Greg Foggo was the top bowler for St. David's, claiming three wickets for 35 runs.
Del Hollis and Delyone Borden both took two wickets each.
In reply, St. David's fell one short with OJ Pitcher the top scorer with 55.
Sammy Robinson and Borden both tried to push the score to the mark with 32 and 31 respectively, while Lauren Marshall (30) and Landro Minors (28) also gave their side a glimmer of hope before ending on 238 for nine.
Dennis Pilgrim was the chief destroyer of St. David's, snatching three wickets for 28 runs, and was ably complemented by Cal Dill who took two wickets.
At Southampton Oval, Southampton Rangers beat Devonshire Rec. by six wickets to also remain undefeated.
Batting first Devonshire could only manage 135 before being bowled out in 46.3 overs.
Ricardo Brangman Sr. was the top bat with 37, while Dion Stovell and Quinton Burch both took three wickets apiece.
In reply, Rangers made 141 for four, with Andrew Raynor being the driving force behind the run chase.
Willow Cuts beat Somerset by three wickets in the West End derby at Somerset Cricket Club.
Somerset were sent into bat, and posted 213 before being bowled out in 43.3 overs.
Jermaine Warner top scored with 38, while Ricky Hoyt (36) and Reid Jones (27) all contributed valuable runs.
George O'Brien jr. and Deuntay Darrell took three wickets apiece.
In reply, Cuts was guided to victory by Dexter Basden who blasted 77 of his team's 217.
Helping Basden in the runs department was Kevon Fubler (32 not out) and Malachi Jones (31).
Hoyt took two wickets for 21 runs, while Dwight Basden, Jacobi Robinson, Jordan DeSilva and Joshua Gilbert all took one wicket apiece.
In First division action, Cleveland County beat St. George's by 66 runs at Sea Breeze Oval.
Cleveland batted first and set a target of 253 in their allotted overs courtesy of Makai Young stroking a comfortable 94.
Rudell Pitcher was St. George's best bowler, taking four wickets.
In reply Detroy Smith scored 53 in a losing effort, as St. George's lost their last wicket with plenty of overs remaining.
Shaki Darrell took four for 13 for Cleveland.
