Injured rider remains in intensive care

Accident: A rider involved in a collision between two motorbikes on Harbour Road, in Warwick, on Friday afternoon, remains in intensive care. The other rider is recovering on a general ward at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

A 52-year old contract worker riding a rental livery cycle when he was injured in a serious road traffic collision remains listed in serious condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.The two-cycle accident occurred at the junction of Harbour Road and Morgan Road in Warwick around 5.30pm on Friday.A police spokesman said the other rider, a 33-year-old Southampton man, was recovering on a general ward.At last check, a hospital spokeswoman said he was listed in stable condition. The 56-year-old in ICU who was listed as critical when admitted is now listed in a serious condition.Police inquiries into this collision are continuing and any witnesses that have not already come forward are encouraged to contact the Roads Policing Unit.Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Pembroke man seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a rental cycle last Tuesday evening on South Road, in Paget, also remains on a general ward in stable condition.A 52-year-old Warwick woman who was riding a rental cycle, which was involved in the collision, suffered a broken wrist.Police are still appealing for the rider of the third motorcycle, which was travelling west, as was the injured 29-year-old Pembroke man, at the time of the collision to contact police, as that rider is an important witness in this investigation.Anyone with any information regarding this collision is encouraged to contact PC Milen Simons on 295-0011.
