Social Club swamped
Som. Eagles 14 Social Club 1
With league leaders Boulevard drawing 1-1 against Ireland Rangers, Eagles made the race at the top of the table more interesting with this massacre of lowly Social Club at White Hill Field yesterday.
The west enders crept to within a point of the leaders with a crushing victory spearheaded by Lamaul Crofton and Stevie Burrows who each struck hat-tricks.
Eagles led 5-0 at the half against opponents who managed a full team bur rarely offered any resistance.
Also among the goals for Eagles were Darrin Dowling and Darnell Pigney, with two apiece, while netting once were Sean Dill, Andre Philpott, Musceo Hunt and goalkeeper Adrian Burrows who took off his keeper's jersey to play out on the field.
Social Club's consolation goal was netted by Marcus Mathews when the score was already 12-0.
Boulevard 1 Ireland Rangers 1
Failure to put away early chances cost leaders Boulevard in this game at BAA Field.
They snatched a 1-0 lead after 15 minutes when Takeyhi Walker scored on a pass from Melchisedec Gibbons but from there onwards it became an exercise in frustration.
Rangers fought back to level the score after 35 minutes with Clifton Anderson netting, and the west enders could have come away with full points had they taken advantage of two chances at the end.
St. David's 2 Paget 0
St. David's kept within striking distance of the leaders with this solid victory, thanks to two goals in the second half.
Desmond Crockwell put the east enders ahead after 55 minutes with a fine effort and Worrell Bean then put the result out of reach with a second goal 10 minutes from time.
S.Rangers 0 Ham. Parish 5
After showing promise in the opening moments, Southampton Rangers were made to pay dearly for their missed chances as Hamilton Parish ran out comfortable winners.
Southampton's young prospect Reggie Lowe almost caught Parish napping in the early going but his attempt came back off the post and before Rangers could catch their breath Neil (Diamond) Robinson had opened the visitors' account with a low drive that beat Gerald Simons at the near post.
Parish's Damon Edwards then lashed home a free kick from 35 yards and Irving Romaine scored again four minutes before the half.
Leon Raynor and Chris Caisey Jr. rounded out the scoring for the visitors in the second half.
