Cyclists give Dockyard thumbs up
Bermuda Bicycle Association gave a resounding thumbs up to using Dockyard for events.
The Association has been trying to hold events at the West End facility for several years. Finally, last weekend, it was able to stage a series of short trial races which showed the lay-out was ideal for the fast, technical and exciting criterium style of cycling.
Association president Greg Hopkins said the area had tremendous potential for bike racing that could prove to be a popular draw for spectators.
"The races we held were very exciting to watch and the riders really enjoyed the challenging courses,'' he said. "They could prove to be very popular, especially if we can secure evening events.''
