Fifty road accidents
Police were called to more than 50 road accidents in just seven days.
Between December 14 and December 21 Police attended 22 accidents where someone was injured and 29 which resulted in damage to vehicles. Four people were also arrested on suspicion of driving drunk.
A Police spokesman said: "The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the Island's roads.
"Additionally, we urge those travelling in cars to use their seat belts at all times and make sure any children travelling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained.
"Those travelling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane."
During the same week, nine vehicles were also stolen, of which three were recovered.
Homes burgled in Southampton
Three homes in Southampton were burgled in the space of six hours.
The first was at a Southampton Road residence at 10.05 p.m. on Monday and the second was at Middle Road home ten minutes later.
The third happened at 3.50 a.m. on Tuesday, at a Shawn Acres Lane home.
Police said residents are encouraged to remain vigilant for any suspicious individuals or activity in their neighbourhoods and to contact Police on 295-0011 if they notice anything or anyone out of the ordinary.
Bike and trailer collide
A 46-year-old St. George's man was injured when the motorbike which he was riding and a trailer being towed by a van collided.
The accident happened a round 3.20 p.m. on Monday at the junction of Dolly's Bay Road and St. David's Road in St. George's.
It appears that the motorcycle was travelling east on St. David's Road and the van towing the trailer was leaving Dolly's Bay Road when the accident happened.
The rider of the motorcycle injured his ankles and complained of pain in his neck. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver of the van, a 50-year-old Warwick man, was not injured.
