Spate of burglaries reported on Island

Police are investigating a spate of burglaries across the Island with burglars taking electronics, jewellery and even funds raised for Haiti.

Officers attended the Heron Bay Primary School at 8.10 a.m. last Tuesday where the complainants said sometime between 5 p.m. on Monday and 7.10 a.m. the next day, a burglar broke into the school and stole cash, including money collected for the school's Haiti Relief Fund.

Later that morning, officers received a report of a burglary at 9.20 a.m. at Tack 'N' More on Middle Road in Warwick. The complainant told Police sometime between 5 p.m. last Sunday and 5 p.m. last Monday, someone entered the store through the garage and stole alcohol, an auxiliary cycle engine and a chainsaw.

At 5.55 p.m. on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Brighton Lane, Devonshire residence.

The complainants stated that sometime between 6.55 a.m. and 5.45 p.m. that day, a burglar entered their home while they were out and stole a quantity of electronic equipment, jewellery and personal items.
