Trio admit robbing taxi driver
pleaded guilty in Supreme Court yesterday.
Ricardo Alexander Denbrook, 21 Howard Austin Sinclair Mello, 21 and Andrew Leroy Hayward 20 pleaded guilty to three charges of aggravated robbery, grievous bodily harm, and taking away a motor car without the consent of the owner.
Hayward, however, entered a not guilty plea to committing grievous bodily harm.
Denbrook was represented by his lawyer Venous Telford, while Mark Pettingill represented Mello and Hayward.
The three will appear again for mention on October 2 and were remanded in custody by Chief Justice Austin Ward.
Also yesterday Kenneth Eugene Richardson pleaded not guilty to aggravated robbery on May 18 when he is alleged to have stolen a woman's handbag. He was represented by Mark Pettingill, standing in for Richard Horseman, and he will appear in Supreme court again on November 1 for a trial date to be set. He was remanded in custody.
Michael Ameshack Jones was remanded in custody after pleading guilty to wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, wilful damage to property, and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a baseball bat.
He was represented by Venous Telford who requested a social inquiry report be done before sentencing on October 7.
Derrick Stanley Arthur Astwood pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a machete. Astwood was represented by Mark Pettingill and will appear on October 2 for mention. He was released on $3,000 bail.
