Church invites the public to forum on black males
St Paul AME Church has invited the public to join a “provocative conversation” on the plight of the black male in Bermuda.The discussion will be moderated by Llewellyn Simmons, director of academics for Bermuda public schools.The panel will include founder of the anti-gang group Cartel, Pastor Leroy Bean; activist and Digicel CEO Wayne Caines; Government race consultant Rolfe Commissiong, and Family Centre director Martha Dismont.St Paul AME Pastor Lanel Guyton said: “These are five dynamic speakers with a lot of experience connected with the family, and part of their discussion will be young black men and the issues they face on a daily basis. It’s an opportunity for us to have a very powerful and intelligent conversation.”The two-hour discussion begins at 7pm on Wednesday in St Paul’s Centennial Hall on Victoria Street.
