Cuba outclassed the Bahamas last night in a seven-goal rout punctuated with spectacular goals.

Their first goal, in the sixth minute, was also their best, a stunning 25-yard howitzer of a right-footed shot on the run by Lazro Dacourt-Martinez.

The second came just six minutes later, another ferocious strike by midfielder Miguel Andara-Reyes, which bounced in off the underside of the crossbar after he rode a tackle on the edge of the penalty area.

To their credit, the Bahamas kept battling and went in at the interval with no further goals conceded, thanks to three excellent saves by Harvey Mullings.

But the Cubans introduced two substitutes at half-time and both were on the scoresheet within 15 minutes.

First Yomber Aguado-Crusellas headed home from close range and then Serguei Prado-Senudo beat Mullings at his near post with a left-footed drive.

A fierce volley on the turn by Luis Marten-Pellicier made it 5-0 15 minutes from time and a far-post header gave Crusellas his second two minutes later.

Another substitute, Pedro Baez-Chala, cracked home the seventh in injury time, to leave Cuba leading the tournament table on goal difference and needing only a draw with Bermuda tomorrow to qualify for the finals.
