Organising committee chairman Sen. Neletha Butterfield, said of the sixth annual celebration at St. Paul AME Centennial Hall: "IT truly will be a heroes day, in the spirit of the late and great Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'' "We will commemorate our own Bermudian heroes by presenting them with Special Drum Major awards and we will also acknowledge the contributions of the late Dr. King.'' Those Bermudians receiving Drum Major Awards are social activist Comrade Richard Lynch, and 85-year-old Mrs. Marguerite Smith for her community involvement, and her role as an active Gordonite, labourite and community activist.

Also being honoured is Mr. Lawrence (Stickers) Hendrickson Sr. for his role in arts and culture and for his involvement in revamping the Gombey competition along with the Belmont Hotel.

Pacers Track Club will also be recognised for youth development.

The celebration from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. will include entertainment, dancing, refreshments, autograph signing, local vendors, kiddie corner, party bags and birthday cake.

BREAK-INS PROBED CRM Break-ins probed Thieves have kept Police busy, with five break-ins reported in the last two days.

Between 6 p.m. on Thursday and 6 a.m. yesterday, substantial amounts of cash and cheques were stolen from a Victoria Street business.

A "small amount of cash'' was also stolen from a King Street business between 7 p.m. on Wednesday and 7.40 a.m. on Thursday.

A house on Sleepy Hollow Drive in Hamilton Parish was also burgled between 7.30 and 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Among the items stolen were a complete, black JVC stereo system consisting of a CD-ROM, a double cassette deck, a tuner, a remote control and speaker, a 14-carat gold "Spyro'' diamond tennis bracelet, a men's black Casio watch, and a small amount of cash.

A large amount of cigarettes were also taken from a South Road, Paget restaurant between midnight and 4 p.m. on Thursday.

FILL THE TANK UP! MUS Fill the tank up! The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo will kick off 1995 by having the public help "fill'' its new North Rock exhibit with water and fish.

The "Fill it up'' drive will enable everyone on the Island to participate in the exhibit.

It will take 140,000 gallons of water to fill the tank, and for a $1 contribution, one gallon will be added.

For $10 a fish and your name will appear on the 24 foot `Fill it Up' wall while $25 will add a queen angelfish.

Anyone wishing to take part in the drive can fill in an envelope at the "Fill it Up'' wall.
