Cancellations
Hurricane Igor is now predicted to be a direct hit, with winds up to 100 miles blowing through Bermuda on Sunday.
As a result activities across the Island are being cancelled and some companies are boarding up for the weekend.
• The Department of Education will decide if schools are to open at 6 a.m. on Monday.
l The last garbage collection in Hamilton will take place on Saturday at noon. For public safety no garbage should be put out after 11 a.m. on Saturday.
• Trenching on Reid Street between King and Court Streets will close Friday evening. Spurling's Hill will be open to motorists from Friday evening. Spurling's Hill will be open to motorists from Friday evening.
• All traffic lights will be turned off in the city on Saturday evening.
• All City parks will be closed from Friday evening and public rest rooms will be closed at midday on Saturday.
• The Four Seasons Family Fun Festival, scheduled for Sunday afternoon has been cancelled.
• Keep Bermuda Beautiful has decided to postpone their annual Island-wide Marine Cleanup which was originally scheduled for this Saturday. The new date will be the following Saturday, 25th September.
• Bermuda Employers' Council has cancelled its 50 Anniversary Gala Banquet on Saturday, where the Bermuda Business Hall of Fame was to be launched. Alternate plans have yet to be decided.
• Uber Vita's cruise on Friday evening for the Bermuda Sanshou Association has been rescheduled to September 24 at 6.30.
•The Clocktower Mall in Dockyard will close Saturday and Sunday.
