President of the association, which encourages mothers, fathers, and nannies to come together for talks and support, Jane Dunlop said the group would be having a dinner to commemorate the day.

The association was founded to get mothers together as a support network for new mothers and also mothers new to the Island. And it doesn't matter what age the children are.

"They need someone to talk to,'' Mrs. Dunlop said. She added that the association also offers playgroups on Mondays and Thursdays at St. Mary's Church hall at 9.30 a.m. and Wednesdays at Peace Lutheran Church at 2.30.

"Tea and coffee are available and children can play together. We also have monthly meetings with speakers, social functions, crafts, BBQ's etc.

*** The Indian Community of Bermuda is once again proud to present another Culture Dance on November 9 at St. Paul's Church Hall in Paget.

This year the show will prove to be much bigger than last and it falls on the eve of our celebration, Diwali -- (The Festival of Lights) and the Indian New Year.

"Our invited guests are the Shiv Shankar Dance Group, a famous Tabla (Indian drums) player, a singer, and Baby Sassy, a sensational dancer, all of whom are from New York,'' organiser Sharmila Gonsalves said.

She added: "We will also have our very own Indian entertainers and proceeds from the evening will be in aid of the Bermuda Diabetic Association.

"We are looking forward to the people of our Island coming out to see what promises to be a great show.'' Tickets are available at the Music Box and Memory Lane Bakery on Serpentine Road, Pembroke. Adults $30 children six to 16 $15.
