Police service hands $16,700 to Hospital Trust
Bermuda Police Service has donated more than $16,000 to the Bermuda Hospital Charitable Trust to help fund the new hospital project.
The service raised a total of $16,764.86 through a series of events, including Denim Days, car parking at Police Field, social events at the Police Recreation Club and a fundraiser at the Police Ball.
Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva said the campaign provided the service an opportunity to show its commitment to the community outside of its policing role. “Everyone in Bermuda benefits from a world class healthcare facility and the BPS family is honoured we could play our small part,” he said.
Chairman of the Trust, Philip Butterfield, thanked the service for its contribution, saying the continued support demonstrates the organisation’s character.
