Willow Cuts have escaped with just a slap on the wrist for their part in the incident that saw Malachi Jones thrown out of Bermuda's ICC Americas Championship squad.
Jones played for his club side against Bailey's Bay during the middle of the tournament, and was punished for disobeying head coach David Moore's explicit instructions to the contrary.
And the player has been slapped with a further ban, as has team-mate Chris Douglas, who also took part in the game, despite being ruled unfit to play for Bermuda in the tournament, because of a knee injury.
The pair been banned from taking any part in the upcoming matches against United Arab Emirates, which includes the four-day Intercontinental Shield clash, two one-day games, and a Twenty20 match.
Willow Cuts were called before a disciplinary hearing..........The BCB sent an email to all clubs prior to the Americas tournament taking place saying national team players were not to play on the Sunday, which was sandwiched between Bermuda's games with Argentina and Cayman.
Cuts are understood to have admitted to receiving that email at a BCB disciplinary hearing yesterday, however the club claim the information wasn't passed on to head coach Rodney Fubler.
And despite also telling the disciplinary hearing that they would have let Jones play anyway, a BCB insider said that the club would get nothing more than a letter of reprimand.
They are unlikely to escape totally however, with the same source suggesting that Jones will be slapped with a two match domestic ban for his disobedience. That sanction would have been handed down yesterday, but Jones was unable to make the meeting.
He will now face a BCB hearing on Monday, where that punishment is expected to be made official, with the ban expected to come into force the following weekend, when Cuts play a double-header against St David's and Devonshire Rec.
