TENNIS KIDS OUT IN FORCES TEN Tennis kids out in force Young tennis players are set to make a hit with the inaugural Cromwell Manders Memorial Tournament which gets underway tomorrow.
More than 60 children have entered the competition, the first junior tournament of 1998, which is named after one of the Island's legendary coaches, who died in 1990.
They will compete in different age groups from under-10s to under-18s.
Keith Fisher, one of the competition's organisers, said: "It must be close to a record entry for a junior tournament. It's different from most of the tournaments in that it's during the mid-term break. Usually they're held in the summer and we miss a lot of the talent because they're away.'' First round matches are being played at the Government Stadium and the Hamiltonian courts. Play begins at 9.00 a.m. and competitors should check tomorrow's Royal Gazette early to find out their start time and location.
