ACT wins Compaq dealer award
reseller, has garnered Compaq Computer Corporation's dealer excellence award.
The award was presented at a recent regional conference in Huatulco, Mexico by Mr. Manual Parra, president of Compaq Latin America Corporation, in recognition of ten years of sales and service of Compaq products.
"The contribution that Compaq has made to our business development in Bermdua has been significant,'' said an ACT spokesman.
"This award represents the tremendous hard work contributed by our employees and our colleagues at Compaq.'' ACT is Compaq's authorised dealer in Bermuda. It became Compaq's first non-subsidiary dealer in the Latin America region in 1985.
The Caribbean, Central America and Bermuda territory is recognised as one of the fastest growing markets for Compaq and ACT has established itself as one of the largest dealers in the territory, according to a release from ACT.
In 1994 Compaq became the leading supplier of personal computers worldwide shipping 847,000 more PCs than any other manufacturer.
At a local level, ACT shipped a record number of Compaq personal computers and network servers, the company reported.
ACT is a wholly-owned Bermuda company started in 1983.
The company has extended its services from reselling hardware and software to network management and full systems integration services.
The company employs 25 people and is headquartered at Williams House in Hamilton.
