Building boss Dennis Correia is the largest local stakeholder in Maxcem Bermuda Ltd. — the firm formed to replace Bermuda Cement Company.
Mr. Correia, whose wife ran as a Progressive Labour Party candidate in the last election, has 48,000 shares, compared to 46,353 for Cemex Denmark while the other local shareholders including Michael and Anette Bierman, Chris Shanks and Paul Simons retain the same stake as before the name change earlier this month.
Maxcem were given an extension to remain at the current Dockyard silos until June 30 after the previous shareholders of BCC were told they would have to rebuild the plant elsewhere, sign a 20-year non-renewable lease and open up 20 percent of the company to the public.
