Nicaraguan anger

When you have a night as successful as that for Bermudian football, there is always going to be someone upset in the ground - and that someone was Robert Rios, technical secretary of the Nicaraguan Football Association.

"In the first place, the way the referee worked does not help the development of a national team," said Rios, whose anger and frustration was apparent despite talking to The Royal Gazette through a translator.

"I was angry about the penalty - I think it should have been a yellow card the other way and I think there should have been more yellow cards shown in general.

"And the linesman on this side (Anthony Mouchette) didn't collaborate properly with the referee and I don't think he was very fair.

"But, yes, we recognise that we must do better."

When asked if things would be different in tomorrow night's re-match, he hinted that the Nicaraguans could play in a manner which will certainly keep the referee's cards busy.

"We will play another system on Friday," he added.

"We have to be more physical. We have one or two boys who are very strong."
