VISITOR'S VIEW
April 8, 2006
Dear Sir,
My wife and I just returned from a week's vacation in beautiful Bermuda ? our fourth trip. We love it because it's such a quick journey. I'd like to make a couple of comments.
First, in about a half dozen shops at the Dockyard the sales people or managers said nothing to either my wife or myself, when we entered their shops. It really didn't make you feel welcome ... so un-Bermudian.
Secondly, we usually take the ferry over and the bus back just for the different views, about half way back to Hamilton. This middle aged lady got onto the bus, greeted the driver and a person in the front of the bus, then about moved down the aisle, but just before she took her seat she said to everyone else on the bus: "Good afternoon, everyone."
What an elegant lady. She was one row in front of my wife and me and as we were getting off the bus she said to us: "You have a wonderful afternoon on our island."
We exchanged comments where we were from. She has a sister in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We hope she gets to read this because this classy lady made our day and unlike the Dockyard Merchants, she had nothing to gain. Some where in the Bible it says: "It is in giving that we receive." What a rich person she is!
