The 4x100 metres relay team recorded the second-fastest time by a Bermuda team at the 2025 Barbados Grand Prix on Saturday night.
The team of Denver Tucker, Suresh Black, Miles Outerbridge and Norre Robinson recorded a time 40.41sec, just 0.66 outside the national record of 39.75 set by Mike Sharpe, Dennis Trott, Cal Dill and Gregory Simons at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.
With the team getting ever closer to the near 50-year record training will continue with coach DeVon Bean detailing the programme for the talented quartet.
“Later on in the summer, if everybody is still healthy, we’ll go to the NACAC Championships in Bahamas,” he said.
“Hopefully, early next year, we can go to the Penn Relays but we’ll keep on plugging away and see where the cards fall.
“We have the Commonwealth Games, CAC Games and World Relays, so we’re looking to qualify for all that, with LA28 being the ultimate goal.”
