Tropical Storm Jerry's position as at 6am on Friday
A relatively quiet Atlantic hurricane season heightened during the island’s recent close calls with hurricanes Humberto and Imelda.
The Bermuda Weather Service said last night that the season’s tenth named system, Tropical Storm Jerry, could approach from the south as a Category 1 hurricane by tomorrow.
However, forecast models suggested the storm would take an increasingly eastward turn by Sunday afternoon, with Jerry swerving sharply to a course almost due east of Bermuda into Monday.
This morning at 6am, Jerry was 916 miles south of the island, moving at 17mph.
