Some of the island’s most respected educators have been selected as nominees for the Bermuda Education Network’s annual Teaching Awards.

Working in partnership with sponsor Allied World Bermuda, BEN’s ten finalists were nominated by administration, colleagues, parents and students from across the island’s public schools.

Organisers said the finalists “represent excellence in instruction, student support, inclusion and innovation”.

Latoya Pearman, the selection committee chairwoman, said: “These finalists were selected for their ability to create inclusive, high-expectation classrooms, their dedication to student development and their leadership within their school communities.

“Many have contributed to improved literacy outcomes, strengthened school culture and innovative practices that benefit both colleagues and students.”
