Motorists were this afternoon urged to steer away from Dutton Avenue in Pembroke after a sewage spill in the area.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works said the spill was caused by a sewer main blockage near the entrance to Marsh Folly Road.
The spokesman said: “Response crews are on site carrying out emergency clean-up operations. The affected area has been cordoned off by police and traffic controls are in place.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the rest of the afternoon and use alternate routes where possible to allow crews to complete the clean-up safely and efficiently.
“The ministry thanks the public for its patience and co-operation.”
