Turning Point validates skills as rehabilitation service
The addiction services wing of the Bermuda Hospitals Board has once again been accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
Turning Point’s accreditation is valid until 2029, during which time the CARF will reassess the department’s ability to offer high-level services.
Judy Richardson, the acting chief executive and chief of nursing, said: “Our addiction services team at Turning Point has maintained CARF accreditation since 2011, when BHB first applied.
“We are proud of their achievement and delighted at the news that it has been retained for a further three years.
“It validates that our team meets world-class standards of excellence in caring for clients and that our Bermuda community has access to the best care.”
The CARF conducted the audit during the end of April before delivering its findings in June.
The department was accredited on intensive outpatient treatment, average outpatient treatment and withdrawal management.
Shirley Place, the director of Turning Point, said: “Our dedicated team is driven to provide clinical services and support to help those who seek our services and desire a drug-free lifestyle.
“We are so pleased to be recognised and receive CARF accreditation for the work we do every day and we strive to improve wherever we can.”
