Team Bermuda win Offshore World Championships
Team Bermuda made history by winning the 2026 Offshore World Championship on Sunday.
Driver David Selley and throttle man Steven Bridges entered the final race of the event with an eight-point advantage but that margin was never threatened as they led for the whole race to bring the world championship title back to Bermuda.
“This is amazing. We have had a great season and to win this is just amazing,” said Selley on the race radio immediately after the race.
“Everybody wants to win Key West and I just can’t believe it. We are now going to do a drive-by for all the Bermudians on the shoreline.”
Nuff Said, with driver Luis Martins and throttle man Nick Imprescia, finished second in the final race, which was ended early after a marine mammal encroached on the course.
Their hopes of a world championship win were ended on the opening day when they received a penalty for hitting a course marker.
