Three people hurt in two separate road crashes have been discharged from hospital, police said.

They included a 63-year-old cyclist who seriously injured his eye when he crashed into a wall on Saturday.

The Warwick man lost control of his bicycle as he rode along Dunscombe Road in Warwick at about 6.40pm.

Members of the public helped before an ambulance took the man to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted to a general ward and also treated for other minor injuries.

Two people were discharged from hospital after a separate incident, which happened on Friday on Parsons Road in Pembroke.

A 19-year-old woman shielded her baby boy with her own body when the pair were knocked to the ground after they climbed out of a community service van and were hit by a motorbike.

The rider allegedly tried to cut between the vehicle and the kerb at about 10.20pm.

All three were taken to hospital and the 17-month-old boy was found to be unhurt.

The mother suffered a knee injury but police said today she was released soon after the incident.

The 24-year-old motorcyclist was initially admitted to a general ward, where he was treated for minor injuries to his wrist and shoulder.

Police said later he was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and has since been discharged from hospital.

Inquiries into both incident continued.
