My Sherry amour

Dear Sir,

I recently spent a week in St George’s at an Airbnb owned by a wonderful gentleman by the name of James.

My first evening, as I went in search of a spot to watch the sunset, I met a woman, whom I consider to be kindness incarnate — an extraordinary ambassador for your beautiful island.

“Sherry”, out for her evening walk, graciously stopped to answer my query for directions to the best spot to see the sunset by pointing out her home, telling me to walk on through, stand in her yard if I’d like, as it would give me a great view.

Upon her return, Sherry was quite adamant that I would not be making the walk back to my rental unit, but that she would drive me, stating that although Bermuda is a safe place, she would feel better knowing I got home OK.

Sherry not only took me home, she took me to see the beautiful beaches, Tobacco Bay, Fort St Catherine’s, the cricket field, pointed out short cuts and filled me in on Cup Match.

It is the beauty, not only the beaches, but the beauty of this kindness and generosity of the people of Bermuda that will keep me coming back as long as I am able.

Thank you, Sherry, I will be sure to pay your kindness forward.
