Roadworks reminder as schools go back

A reminder on lane and road closures across the island was released yesterday.

The public works ministry said lane closures would be in force on

•Mullet Bay Road near Penno’s Wharf, St. George’s

•Harrington Sound Road near Paynter’s Rd, Hamilton

•Harbor Road near Lover’s Lane, Paget

•Middle Road near Stadium Lane at the Esso Service Station, Warwick

•Middle Road near Store Hill, Smith’s

•Middle Road near Georges Bay Road, Southampton

•Mangrove Bay Road between Cambridge Road and ‘Tween Walls, Sandys.

The road closure locations will be:

•Harrington Sound Road between Lolly’s Well Road and Harrington Hundreds, Smith’s

•Store Hill between North Shore Road and Middle Road, Smith’s

•Cemetery Road between Gorham’s lumber yard entrance and St. John’s Rd roundabout, Pembroke

A spokeswoman added that Harbour Road, Paget, between Highwood Lane and Lover’s Lane, would be shut on Thursday between 10am and 2pm to allow construction of a new wall to continue.

She said: “Road users are advised to detour onto Middle Road and South Road during this time as traffic will not be allowed to pass.”
