Gun gesture earns man ten days in prison

A 29-year-old who threatened police with a shooting gesture was sentenced to ten days in jail.Rashad Cooper, of Pembroke, admitted to the threatening behaviour in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.He made the gesture outside Spinning Wheel on Saturday night.Crown counsel Takiyah Burgess said police attended the Court Street nightclub at 11.50pm after Cooper refused to leave.Cooper pointed his hand at officers with a gun-shooting motion and said: “Bullets for all of you.”He also admitted calling officers “p***ies”.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner told Cooper that shooting threats were “particularly serious”.He jailed him for ten days for each offence, with the sentences to be served concurrently.
